The Montessori Core Principles

The Montessori Method at Brockman Elementary is implemented as a whole-school model, serving students from 3K through Fifth Grade. The program is open to students zoned for Bradley, Satchel Ford, or Brennen Elementary schools. Enrollment is determined through a lottery system.

This approach is grounded in scientific observations of children's development, viewing them as naturally curious and capable of self-directed learning when provided with a thoughtfully prepared, supportive environment. The Montessori Method focuses on the holistic development of each child—physically, socially, emotionally, and cognitively—and includes multi-age groupings, uninterrupted work periods, and opportunities for guided choice in activities. The classroom environment is equipped with specially designed Montessori materials tailored to the developmental needs of the children.
